Come join us.

We meet about every 6 weeks.

Next Meeting: Friday February 24th at 7PM in the CCCC Conference Room.

We have selected the next 2 book club books.

Feb 24, 2012 we will discuss “Made to Crave” by Lysa Terkeurst.

Please note the following reviews:

The premise of Made To Crave is simple: we crave, because we are supposed to crave. The Lord can satisfy our cravings, but unless we reach for him, again and again, we’ll attempt to fill the void with other less desirable choices.

Made to Crave is right on target! I know and believe I am made for more and God wants more for me. This book helps us focus on our relationship with God and not the next crazy craving. I have been amazed at how I have been able to focus, stop, pray and even recite verses to get me through.

On Mar 3, 2012 we will discuss “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand. We will meet at the CCCC Conference Room at 7PM.

Please note the following reviews:

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is the unbelievable story of Louis Zamperini,a troubled teen turned Olympic contender, whose service in the Pacific front of WW11 lands him in a POW camp in Japan. His story defies ones comprehension of survival. His experiences define the horror and the realities of being a serviceman and prisoner of war in the great war. Zamperini’s resilience and core of strength amazes the reader more and more as each page is turned.

If you read one book in your lifetime, you must read Unbroken!!! If you want something funny — look elsewhere. Most biographies are predictable and you usually struggle to get to the end. Not so with Unbroken. This book captures you from page 1 — from the childhood antics of Louis Zamperini, how he grows into an Olympic Runner, to enlisting into the Air Corp, his life as a bombardier in WWII, surviving many days at sea, his disturbing stories as a POW, returning home and dealing with post-war syndrome and finally recovering from alcoholism and turning his life around.
